So you *really* want to know about me, huh? I guess so...or you wouldn't have clicked here :) OK, read on... :-)

Changes, changes...

On the road of life, I'd been making more stops than most tractor-trailers do. From 1997-2002, I'd had a total of 8 jobs, lived in 3 cities, 2 countries, and gotten generally worn out pretty quick.

But since then, I have been back in New York and, near as I can tell, I am here to stay. At least I want to be. All that moving around had made me sick as I made great new friends and invariably wound up leaving.

What do I do for food?...

Well, after ICE went out of business in 2002, I saw two options: Join the massive hunt for one of the few available jobs at severely reduced pay or start my own agency.

website design, CD-ROM development, search engine (SEO) marketing Those that know me would not be surprised that I picked door #2. Thus, DG Interactive, LLC was born. All the info is at dg-interactive.com. The summary is that we do websites, CD-ROMs, search engine/online marketing strategy, 3D animations, and more. Staffing levels have run between 2 and 14 depending on the projects and I'm proud to count Canon U.S.A.'s Video Division as a key client of DGI. We recently completed the relaunch of the CanonDV.com website. Take a look.

From March 2000, I was working as a producer and search engine strategist at ICE, a Marketing Communications/Web Design agency in the Gramercy Park area of Manhattan. I liked this job a lot and was there until ICE NY closed for good on Thanksgiving Day in 2001. They had been in business almost 25 years, but the economic downturn, among other factors, did them in. Very sad.

From May 1999 until March 2000, I was the Assistant General Manager at Broadway City, an amusement complex on E-Walk (the New 42nd Street) in Times Square, NYC. It was a unique experince I wouldn't trade for anything.... I was an integral part of getting the place open and getting it running the right way. Then I took off ;-)

Until May 99, I was working in Chicago, IL at Midway Games, Inc.. Midway is a arcade game manufacturer. If the name doesn't ring a bell, some past hits are Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, and Cruis'n USA. I don't program or anything; I worked in the Creative Media department, which is fancy for PR.

From Dec. 97 to June 98 I was living in London, England. Don't ask me why, cause I don't really know. I needed a change, and as you'll read below, I studied here in 1996, so it was a logical choice once I decided to take a break from America. I was working as Floor Manager at Segaworld... a 6 story entertainment (rides and games) complex in the Trocadero (Piccadilly Circus).

Here are a few pics (of me, obviously!)

I graduated from Geneseo State University, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system in May 1997.
I spent my second to last semester at Middlesex University in north London, England.

I majored in Communication (Track in Mass Media Management/Production), and minored in Psychology. I also did a non-official pseudo-concentration in business... If you're wondering where Geneseo is, it's about 30 miles south of Rochester NY--about an hour from Buffalo/Niagara Falls.

I grew up in New City NY--in Rockland County--about 30 miles north of New York City.

I don't want to give a whole resume thing here, so if there's anything else you want to know, just e-mail me... tfth -at- daveland.com

OK, you've been here long enough. Don't you have things to do?

Take the high road back to where you came from...
